What about smell? They say if you marry someone and are together for enough years that you begin to look alike. But what about smell? I think you smell alike before you look alike, but it always gets overlooked. Walk into anyones home and that household will have its own unique smell. Every house on the block will have a distinctly different smell than the one next to it. Even if it's an apartment complex with paper thin walls. Even if there are pets. Although animals themselves do not take on the scent of their owners. They have their own scent. I know that some will say that humans do too, but if you take away the deodorant, the perfume, the hairspray, and leave the underlying scent, I believe it'll be the same among members of the same household. (Disclaimer: This does not apply to infants.)
Parents pass this scent along to their children. The children will carry this scent until they move out on their own and start to develop their own scent. If they get married their scent will then merge with their partners to create a whole new scent, and thus pass it along to their children.
The smell of a family can tell you many things about them. Whether they're clean or dirty. If they eat right or they don't. Maybe even what background they are from. If a woman is wearing an excessive amount of perfume, or a man cologne, what are they hiding? And why are they hiding it?
