I am therefore a supporter of the military and the men performing those missions, but I do NOT support the war effort we are in at the moment. The reasons for being there have been blurred to a point where it goes way beyond overthrowing a certain leader. If that were truth, then why didnt we complete the job while me and others like me served there years ago. It goes way beyond a cowardly act of terrorism in 2001 too- and the leader of the group responsible. Now, you would probably say by that that I am a Democrat....you would be wrong. I am an American. Republican or Democrat doesnt impress me. I tend to vote for the candidate my heart tells me is best..and my heart is telling me right now, we need some changes. I say these things because... I love this country. There is NONE better that I have ever seen, and I have been all over the world and back. But somewhere along the way, it seems to me that we need to look at the cause of the high illegal immigrants in the country. That we need to look closer, at how those terrorists ever got in the country to begin with to live amongst us- It is time we brought our soldiers home from all over the world and start protecting our own interests and our own borders.

LAST MONDAY, THE PEOPLE AT GOLDEN CORRAL RESTAURANT GAVE A FREE MEAL TO ALL MEN AND WOMEN WHO HAD EVER SERVED IN DUTY FOR THEIR COUNTRY. AS I SAT THERE AND LOOKED AROUND THE ROOM, I SAW PEOPLE OF VIRTUALLY ALL AGE GROUPS- THE OLDER GENTLEMEN SHOOK MY HAND, AND THANKED ME FOR MY SERVICE. ONE EVEN SALUTED ME AND GAVE ME A HUG...IT IS EASY TO SEE AN OLDER PERSON, AND NOT THINK OF THEM IN WAR TIME, YOUNGER....PERHAPS MANNING SOME GUN TURRET, SHOOTING AT THE ENEMY BEFORE THEY FLEW INTO A SHIP OR FLYING A PLANE EVEN...OR ON THE GROUND IN INFANTRY. YET THEY DID SERVE...AND WHEN YOU LOOK INTO THEIR EYES....YOU SEE THE FLASH OF MEMORIES THEY HAVE OF THE EVENT...AND YOU SEE THE PRIDE THEY THEY HAD THEN IN DOING SO...I WANTED TO PUT A SECTION ON THIS SITE IN HONOR OF THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO DID FIGHT IN WORLD WAR TWO AND KOREA....AND VIETNAM.... KATRINA VICTIMS.. YOU ARE NEVER FORGOTTEN...A YEAR HAS PASSED.. YOU REMAIN IN OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS EACH AND EVERY DAY. A MONTH AGO, I REVISITED THE AREA FROM NEW ORLEANS TO JUST SHORT OF MOBILE. THERE HAS BEEN SOME PROGRESS, ALTHOUGH VERY SLOW. PEOPLE ARE STILL WITHOUT HOMES, WITHOUT DREAMS- THOSE DREAMS WASHED AWAY A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO. I SPOKE WITH ONE LADY IN MOSS POINT, MISSISSIPPI AREA THAT TOLD ME BECAUSE SHE IS A SERVER AT A RESTAURANT, SHE ISNT GIVEN GOVERNEMT AID WHEN HER HOME WAS WASHED OUT TO SEA. I SAW AN ELDERLY LADY LIVING IN A CARDBOARD BOX, NEAR WHERE THE FOUNDATION OF HER HOME USED TO BE. HOUSES THAT HAD WITH STOOD BATTLE IN THE CIVIL WAR, NOW LAY IN RUBBLE- A FAINT MEMORY FROM THE PAST.
