I am here for Friends

About Me

Hi, My name is Chris. Most people call me Pyro thanks to my Photon days in Wheaton with it's proximity to Barry's Magic Shop and the reasonably priced flash paper they sold. I'm sure if anyone who knew me when I was a Boy Scout, they would tell tales of Off, Sweet & Low packets and styrofoam plates or the jar of homemade napalm which caught fire in my hand that I blew out, but let's just take it as fact that it is an earned name.
I love my wife, dogs and friends. I wish I had more time for them then anything else in this world.
I like bicycles more then anybody you know. Not just one kind of bicycle, all of them, except crappy ones from department stores or big box stores. I like to ride road, mountain, BMX, cyclocross, trials, track, beater or any other kind of bicycle which does not have a flat or is in serious need of repair. If it's broken or needs adjusting, I like fixing bicycles as much as riding them. When I'm not asleep at work or asleep at home, I'm usually contributing to the betterment of what BMX has to offer the web via community and information. I could also be a conceded bastard, but take a look at other "BMX Websites" and then look at mine. There are fewer flames, better manners, more useful information and better friends then other websites. I think fewer then a dozen of the regulars on the site have ever seen each other in person, yet there are many friendships for such a passing format. We have great feedback from the few companies we choose to work with and many companies are very fond of what we have to say as a whole. If that makes me conceited, then so be it.
I also like cars. Hot Rods mostly, but I have a very well defined personal preference for Hot Rods. I like cars from the 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, late 60's, early 70's and some from the mid 80's. Mussel cars (Clams got feet!), sure. Wagons, most of them. Hate convertibles, love trucks. I dislike most Chevies except for 55 Bel Air wagons and mid 60's Impalas. I think black suede with pinstripes or flames is the only color for any car from the 50's or earlier. Lead sleds are cool, but only if the suspension works. Freched, shaved, chopped, channeled, slammed and bagged is how I like cars. I know that neon is not a paint, it's a gas. Billet is for import cars, not Hot Rods.
I like coffee. I mean I really like coffee. A lot even. I don't think coffee needs sugar or cream, it's fine plain. I like it warm because my mouth thinks anything over about 100 degrees is boiling despite science telling us it's 212 degrees.
I like English measurements. Not that the metric system isn't a lot easier, but where would we be without pints? You got it, not in a pub. Boring...
I am Danish, which means I am genetically predisposed to playing cards, eating foods made entirely of fat without gaining weight, pronouncing the plural of Lego correctly and sleeping well in cold weather.
I have a MySpace page, but it's not "mine" per say. Someone used my e-mail address to register it, so I took it over having no other way to contact them. Since then, I have lost interest in it and am hoping that it populate itself with interesting stories about me. This has not happened, so I have stopped believing in MySpace.
If any of this interests you, repels you or means nothing to you at all, then you and I would probably get along just fine in person. Drop me a line if you want to have a look at my musings. I require less info then it takes to get into an airport terminal these days.

Surgery

Surgery is not needed.Or so they say. They are asking to see my films from the ER, but I think after they do, the result is the same.In other news, it seems the guy who hit me is still in jail.

Welcome...

So here I am. I've been the "owner" of a MySpace account for a while now, but it was only because someone registered their account using my e-mail address. My feeling is if you don't know your own e-m...
