Hip Hop, for a long time has been seen as a vent for the emotions and feelings that people encounter in their everyday lives. It’s also been seen as a source of knowledge and understanding in the way of life of those people who express and talk about their experiences in the form of Hip Hop. It’s the ultimate evolution of poetry, it’s the mixing of music and words to put across a message which caresses the soul and elevates the mind. It’s also been associated with the streets, the voice of the population, the hearts of those who have no means of expressing their views and troubles. Thus, giving it the crown of street poetry.
Scribe has grown up in a family which has escaped from Iraq to Syria due to the oppressive regime of Saddam. His direct family were affected greatly in the atrocities which took place at the time and to this day they suffer from the ongoing security unrest in Iraq. He grew up in Syria till he was ten in the cultural old city areas and saw how in third world countries, the deprived are living way below required living standards. By ten, he moved to London, constantly moving from area to area in the north west region of the city, never staying in a school for more than 2 years, till he finally settled in Stonebridge, its in here where his first encounters with MCing came about. He finally found a way for him to speak out his experiences and the stories that went around him and a way to vent out his feelings. Although he has been a dedicated reader of poetry especially in Arabic, he saw that writing poetry in the form of hip hop, a more soul touching way in these modern days.
Since a young age he had a gift for expressing himself and putting his point, jokes and ideas in an elaborate and articulate way. So it was destined for him to write, and his writing form eventually turned to be rhyming. With practice he now became a deep passionate writer with bars that await to capture your attention.
