Not to knock the online guys (there is a place for everything, like I said before - it is FREE!) but they are giving out the same instrumentals over & over again. Seriously - it's not yours. Don't think that something can actually be yours for nothing. When using lossy, degraded mp3's for your album you should also consider the quality issues, like being stuck with a poor mix because only a stereo file was provided, final arrangement limitations & last but certainly not least - the sound quality.

2. The most efficient way to transfer digital files between recording platforms is via the Broadcast Wav Files (BWF) format. The BWF file format allows for an extra file extension of metadata, allowing audio processing elements to identify themselves, document their activities, and permit time & session placement synchronization with other recordings. This metadata is stored as an extension chunk in an otherwise standard digital audio WAV file. BWF is now the audio format of choice between motion picture, recording studios and television production. Files can be delived online through FTP or by traditional carriers (FedEX, UPS, etc..) on a standard ISO 9660 CDr/DVDr or an external USB2 hard drive.

We are done with the new Sweet Irene record, "Dust & the War On Sound". We are very proud of this project and feel that it is an amazing collection of songs. “Dust & the War On Sound†will be released on vinyl & mp3's thru the Collection Agency Music imprint. This release draws inspiration from our wide range of musical influences (using both samples & live instrumentation) tied together by Irene’s distinctive voice.

We spent the last 3 or 4 months really just vibing out & really listening to music, actually listening. Not just playing music in the background on the way to the store - LOL :). Just staying fresh - ya know?
To be honest, its been a long while since I really LISTENED to music like this. I've even dusted off the turntable at home & been pulling out shit that I haven't heard in years! Anyway, it has been a great experience & the new stuff just came. We are putting it all together next week in preparation for mastering... This release will be once again available thru torrents (due to storage prices falling & bandwidth capacities soaring - look for things like full .wav files, alternate versions, etc being made available). But this record is being put together w/ vinyl in mind. With that said, we will be staying true to 17 or so minutes per side, and we have approached mixing & mastering with fidelity & the listening experience in mind (not just loud-ass square waves). I think that it is going to be an amazing record & can't wait for you all to hear it.
