Maitland Youth Music Crew (aka MYMC) was formed in 2006 by Dave Cook ( Colliderskopic and ex-member of Blink monkey Voodoo) who wanted to bring more music to the area of Maitland, NSW as he has a passion for performing and help promote local bands and local act. Various people have come and joined the crew and helped out with events. The crew was help by Lisa Ronneberg (The Samaritans) and the local PCYC. MYMC has done previous music gigs with bands from all around Australia as well as have a large amount of those bands are from Maitland and the local surrounding areas. When Dave stepped down from being chairman and asked Peta Kotz ( A December Truth and ex-member of Held by Heartstrings) to take the over she enlisted the help of Jye Mitchell (ex-member of Held by Heartstrings) and Sarah Rhodes. Dave believed that Peta was best to take over running the crew and she has brought the crew a long way since it had first started. Currently MYMC is going through some changes Peta has passed it on to Kristina Cacic ( Colliderskopic ) who hopes to take ideas from Dave and Peta and have the crew take a new direction with the help of Alexandra James,Aprill Miles and Steffi Yee in the quest to help local bands and other performing fields in creating a fun, friendly and safe atmosphere for the youth of Maitland, NSW, Australia and it's surrounding areas. MYMC caters for the age groups between 12-25 but people older are always welcome.
