Dear Friends,
I’d like to express my immense gratitude and appreciation for the support that you’ve given me throughout my career. As you know, this season marks the end of my nine-years as a New York Knickerbocker and my twelve-years as a NBA player. My decision to retire was very difficult and something I wrestled with personally - having done everything possible to get back onto the court for two years. Though disappointed not to be in a Knick uniform again I had to acknowledge that my comeback as a player was not meant to be for now, and that it was in the best interests of my family and the franchise that I let my body heal completely.Thank you for staying with me through the good times and the tough times, and always letting me know how passionate you are about basketball and they way I tried to play it. It would always make me feel special when fans from all over the world expressed how much they enjoyed watching us play. From Louisville, KY, to Tennessee, to Detroit, to New York, it has been a privilege to play for you all.As I look forward to life’s next chapter, many have asked what’s in store for me. Right now I am enjoying spending time with my wonderful wife and children. I know that I have a desire to use my gifts to help others (especially our youth and those coming up behind me). Whatever it is, I hope you will continue to support what we are doing at AllanHouston.Com and in the community. So thank you again for your tremendous support, and for giving me some of the most memorable experiences of my life.Peace & Blessings,Allan Houston
