(Bio)Young Boogie (Suave Harris), born in Decatur, Illinois 1990, began his exploration of the rap culture around the age of 14 when he and rappers Homicide(Kofi Bazzell-Smith) and Perpetrator(Josh Hoyt) recorded a song for their first music video "Get Crunk". "That was my worst song I ever wrote. I want that video to be burned." replied Boogie when asked the question, what is your thoughts about your music video "Get Crunk"? That would not be the last we heard of Young Boogie. A month later, Boogie purchased a mic and a computer with one goal on his mind, to prove he could make good music. With time good music he did end up making. His first mixtape "Just Business", released in mid July 2005, had a remarkable number of 28 songs and featured rapper Young Club (Sean W. Greaten). The singles for the mixtape were: BoogieBAMonster, Gutta Nigga, and Bodybag. Boogie has stated that he will record a revised version of BoogieBAMonster on his album "Progression of A Legend". The album is set to drop in the Second quarter 08.Even after "Just Business", Boogie did not stop growing lyrically. Around winter 2005, Boogie began listening to Lil Wayne. A lot of Boogie’s rap style is accredited to Lil Wayne because at that time, that was all Boogie had listened to. After accomplishing his first mixtape, Boogie pushed for a higher goal, making his own album with his own beats. Boogie then began experimenting with a beat making program called Fruity Loops. As a result the album "ThatBoiBoogie: The Prequel" was created. The Album featured rappers: Homicide, Young Club, and Mo-B(Monel Brown). The number one single for this album would be known as "After that Paper". Not only was the Album a big step for Boogie. It was a big step for the group who would be later called Contraband. With Boogie as the president and Young Club the vice-president, the group would later a have a subdivision "Unknown" with Young Club as the president. The hits did not stop. In the Spring of 2006, Boogie made another mixtape with rapper K-Will(Kenneth Williams). The mixtape would be known as "The Good and the Bad". The number one single for the mixtape was "The Good and the Bad".This mixtape was another milestone for Young Boogie because on this mixtape, Young Boogie would freestyle, something he would often do but never put on a cd. Also around this time he was signed to Anym3ans Records along wit the rest of Contraband.Recently, Boogie has dropped out 3 mixtapes in the year of 2007 alone. The first mixtape was "Mixtape Monsta", it was released April 20th and featured T-Jizzle(Tj), Woop(Tyshawn), Web(Webster Kpur), Chris Brown, and Lil Wayne. The Second mixtape dropped that year was The Hitlist Vol.1, it was released September 27th. This mixtape was also the first mixtape in which all the tracks were freestyles. Memorable songs on the mixtape are: White Girl Freestyle, The intro, and Gangsta Boo(he has a youtube video of this song). But what really set Young Boogie apart from the average rapper was his last mixtape of that year called "The Hitlist Vol.2. It was released on Christmas day. This mixtape showed that Boogie wasn’t just a gangster rapper but also a conscience rapper. Memorable songs are: My Pain Ft. DP, G til I die, and Fuck the Hype. It is noted that Young Boogie also signed to Dp Studios/Blowin Big Ent., around the time of The Hitlist Vol.2.Boogie is currently working on his album "Progression of a Legend" and The Hitlist Vol.3 both feature an upcoming rapper Hoven the Great(Antuan Major) and DP(David Parker). Young Boogie has purposely leaked 4 tracks off of Progression of a Legend. One of the songs being I Feel Good, the hit single off of his album. The other 3 tracks are Dumb Bars, Trick I Wish You Would, and Bag Back. Dumb Bars and I Feel Good are already up for free download as ringtones. Little is known about The Hitlist Vol.3 except that its release date will April 18th.(Other information about Young Boogie)Boogie’s most used phrase: "It’s Boogie the fuckin’ man don’t forget it"
He is also known as: The Grimreaper, Boogieman, Boogie "The Fucking" Man, Your Favorite Rapper, and recently Mr. Better than You.(Biography by Carla Walker)
