About Me

Hey there! I'm Tara, I'm old enough to know better but young enough to do it anyway... I'm a tattoo artist. But what I am more often than that is a truck driver.Yes, sir, I drive 18 wheels. My typical load is 40,000 pounds. How many of you can say THAT and still retain your girlish figure? ;-) (That's a joke. No, really, a joke.)I've had a fun life so far...From studying automotive mechanics in college to subbing an art class at high school...I've experimented in every career field that's interested me, from auto mechanics to freelance graphics arts. What I've really wanted to get into is sound for movies or theatre. Unfortunately, with my luck, I've been unable to go any further with it. I have all the wrong contacts, in all the wrong fields, with all the wrong amounts of authority on the subject. That being said, I am a product of destiny. In other words, I'm probably going to end up being the most intelligent pizza broker in New York in thirty years unless someone saves me from a life less interesting.=)I'm an optimistic pessimist. I paint pictures like I'm going to become blind tomorrow. I take pictures with 35mm film and have approximately 120 undeveloped rolls sitting in a box inside of my halfway-restored 1964 El Camino. One day, I'll put an engine and a tranny inside my car...Probably on the same day that I develop all that film. That car is like my time capsule.I have a strong sense of kinship with just about everyone. I'm a gypsy in a time when we're not welcome. I get embarrassed and flustered in front of people I find attractive. I'm outgoing and personal and have few, but lasting, friendships. I have more acquaintances that I'm on a first-name basis with than cousins...Which, being Irish, that's a hard thing to come by.I speak English and Irish somewhat fluently, though my English has gotten worse since I became a truck driver. My grandfather is rolling over in his grave every time I talk on the CB. I speak Latin as well as can be expected, given the fact that it's a dead language. I go to Catholic church on Sundays just to study it.I'm not religious. More like a naturalist without the 24/7 nudity.I love the 'dead' arts. Literature that people groan over in highschool, languages that no one has spoken seriously for hundreds of years, paintings that have been forgotten and written off as 'poor examples of the period.' Sounds that people take for granted. Visions that don't happen any more, except for in the back of your mind.I'm a collector. And while I collect Star Wars, comic books and fine art, I'm also a collector of sounds, images and words. My mind is a trap for anything that happens its way. I play football better than most guys I know. QB = TO'S. Voted "Most Likely To Get Away With It."And, before you ask, no... it had NOTHING to do with sexual exploits in the school's bathroom. I didn't even have a boyfriend until age 20.I replay old movies on mute and create my own sound effects. I love mystery and hate mystery novels. I believe Che Guevara would have made a better president than George Bush. I love rain, how it feels and how it sounds. I have this pressing need to take care of homeless animals. I feel when I wish I were numb. My favourite colour is black, but I love to wear emerald green. I've always wanted grey hair and when I get it, I'll probably want the red back.I've been in three bands in the past...One was a punk band called Stark Naked & The Car Thieves (after a band from the 50s who would be appalled at the thought...and the music.) I played bass. I think the only one of us who had talent back then was the drummer.I joined two of my friends in a band called Balance. We sucked. We knew it.We then found our golden egg - Me and my best friends, Johnny, Jake and Clif formed a rock band called Incognito (changed later on to Broken Circle.) The band lasted for quite a while. The songs we wrote are the only things left of the guys - between 2005 and now, they've all died. The songs are my memories.I play 23 instruments fairly well. Guitar I've been playing for 14 years, piano for 19. I can ink beautiful pictures into your skin. I'll write if I have to. I take pictures because I can. I travel to see culture in all its varying forms. I dress like a gypsy who was let loose in a fetish shop because it starts interesting conversations with various types of people. I won't tell you what you want to hear, but what you need to hear.I'm a redhead who dyes her hair darker. I started life with a full head of blonde hair, which turned brown, which turned red. My hair morphs. It's normally a lighter, brighter red. I make it darker because lighter colours wash me out and then people need sunglasses to look at me. I don't tan - I create freckles.I've spent much of my life traveling. I want to drive the Ice Road one of these years. I bungee-jumped off of an abandoned train bridge, against my better judgement. I laid on my stomach and looked down into a mile-long chasm when I was 6. I love heights. I crave responsibility and shirk success. The word "ironic" is more pleasant to hear than the word "terrific."I'm eccentric, but you probably already guessed that.Beyond all of this, I will like you. I will even buy you a beer if we're in the same room together. However, if you choose Bud Light (or any number of boring domestics), I will attempt to deter you and force you to choose a beer you've never had before...Unless you give me good reason to suspect that the domestic is the only beer you CAN and COULD drink, given the circumstance. If you're wearing a suit right now, loosen your tie.If you're wearing underwear, adjust your wedgie. And if you're naked...Good GOD, man! This is a public place! Go get some clothing on![LOVEMYFLASH][/LOVEMYFLASH]
