About Me
Jeffrey Young is an improvisational violinist, classical violinist, composer, rock star, songwriter extraordinaire, singer less-than-extraordinaire, rock music historian, new music buff, rough-and-ready bluegrass and Irish fiddler, a sometime jazzer, a visionary, a major talent...that is, yet another humble musician hailing from Brooklyn, New York. A graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory (B.M. in violin and composition, 2007), Jeffrey Young has made around 100 appearances over the past year at venues such as The Highline Ballroom, B.B. King's, Music Hall of Williamsburg, Mercury Lounge, The Spiegeltent, Galapagos, The Bitter End, Southpaw, The Tank, Roulette, and Rockwood Music Hall. He is also in demand as a recording artist, having been featured on albums of hip-hop, jazz, prog rock, kids songs, and more, as well as on The Rachael Ray Show.
