Band Members: Matt Staples, Zach Zanardo and Dan Staples
Influences: THE ORANGE FUZZ: This three-piece power trio was a blast from the past. They all had shaggy haircuts, with their singer/guitar player (who switched to bass and back during the set) looking like a younger version of Brian May. The band all wore button-down shirts--without the frilly Queen-like collars, mind you--and heavily emulated The Doors and Blue Cheer with their bluesy acid-rock sound. They even busted out a James Gang cover, but don't get me wrong, we're not talking about a buncha old men here. There was a sizable teenage fanbase out to support these guys, and the band members weren't drinking anything harder than water this evening. Let it be known that I'd much rather see the youth of today playing this kind of music rather than joining karate-chop-inducing metalcore bands with rediculous stupidly long names.
