About Me

Seems like my life sometimes goes in cycles. From the person who listens to everyone, to avoiding everyone. Maybe if I had it all to do over again I would become a psychologist, as I find figuring out how people work a fairly interesting pastime. Instead, I am finishing up another degree in the field of English. I can’t really complain though. I love teaching, and my students keep me interested and always bring something new to my life.
It’s been almost two years since I moved to this part of the world, and as I contemplate what comes next, I realize I have absolutely no idea where I will wind up. Then again, I sometimes think that is the story of my life – what is next? Maybe that isn’t so surprising for someone who has probably wasted far too much time looking back instead of forward.
So what else would one like to know? I am very slow to anger, probably far too quiet, though when I decide to take charge I tend to let little stand in my way. I forgive, but accept that it is unlikely I will ever forget. I have made my share of mistakes, and can’t stand people who aren’t willing to accept theirs. Mistakes are part of life – Deal with it! I know more worthless trivia than I will ever be able to use, and wish I knew useful things – like how to hotwire a car during a zombie invasion.

Ranting (Part 5 of ?)

Maybe it is the end of the semester, maybe it is something else, but I find that once more my patience has run out for stupid people. I am tired of people doing stupid things, giving excuses, and neve...

Atrocities (Part 4 of ?)

We live in a world of atrocities crime, violence, anger and perhaps the worst: apathy. Yet is this all there really is? It does seem that is pretty much all we hear about. Simply turn on CNN and pic...

My first series of blogs started with some interesting questions and thoughts. Looking back now, I wonder about that. I don't believe what I wrote was wrong, but isn't it interesting how perspective c...

Alone (Part 2 of ?)

Seems like I have spent a lot of years of my life listening to those around me feeling responsible, in many ways, for their happiness. Now, this may sound a little conceited, and maybe it is, but I ...

Armor (Part 1 of ?)

There are a lot of ways I could start a new series. I could probably talk about the pain I and one I love have gone through over the last few days. But it seems like there already is enough of that wr...

It's Just Life (Part 1 of 17)

This is life. There is no goal to accomplish, no ribbon to break at the end. It simply is what it is. Life is a process a day to day struggle to achieve what we want, and then more often than not, t...

What Would You Do? (Part 2 of 17)

Terry Pratchett brings up an interesting concept in his book "Reaper Man". One of the characters complains that people could do so much more if they knew when they were to die. It is Death's response ...
