One of a few musicians in America to have a solid improvisational background in Traditional Jazz, Classical North Indian Raga and Contemporary Classical Composition. Performances with Ustad Imrat Khan, Deepak Ram and Indian dance Guru Pasanna Kasthuri along with featured performances at the Whitaker Jazz Festival, Contemporary Art Museum and music clubs locally and nationally round out a diverse talent. Mosby’s music has been set to film, TV and theater productions.
Studies in composition and arranging at Berklee College Of Music and continued studies under the direction of Ustadt Imrat Khan in Classical North Indian Music and Dr. Roland Jordan in Contemporary Classical Composition and jazz studies with Milt Hinton and Fareed Haque provide a solid grounding in musician skills. Mosby is member of the Imdad Khan Gharana, India’s royal family of sitar musicians dating back 500 years.
