About Me
Kosice/Slovakia native Maros Glaubic started his DJ career at Kosice legendary Joys Club 10 years ago. But it was a move to Bratislava for studies, that has explored his skills and reputation. After few years there he gained a serious reputation and started Doubledecker parties @ elam club, now another legend of the scene. The special event done twice a year is stil promoted by him, and has seen a lot of diverse style people like Halo & Hipp-E, David Duriez, Heiko Laux, Pascal FEOS, DJ Buck, Tee Bee, Samuel L. Session, D-Bridge, Spirit Catcher, Soul Mekanik or Chris Duckenfield.
That times (late 90s) he was known as Mr.G and played more trance and progressive records. Soon as the century was ending, he was looking back at his musical roots more often and fell in love with deephouse / techhouse and all the new forms of house music. He has stopped using his Mr.G guise, and started to appear more often side by side with his old mate Martin Haberland, who was recognized as a house hero in Slovakia.
That was also the time, when Maros and Martin felt, that Djing is not the only thing they want to do, so they have sit together in the studio and produced few tracks that got the recognition and support from people like Ian Pooley, Halo & HippE, Hakan Lidbo or Nigel Hayes. From January 2001 they have created an unique concept for their new monthly parties @ elam club with title saying it all: MUSIC IS EVERYTHING. On this parties they play together the sets on 4 turntables and 2 mixers, and invite guests from the top of the deep house and tribal house range from Slovakia, Czech Republic and from abroad as Sasse aka Freestyle Man (Moodmusic/finland), Nigel Hayes (Chaser/Soma/UK), Courtney (Contrastmusic/US), Alex Moran (Weekender/UK), LHK (Tango/20:20 Vision), Basti Schwarz (Tiefschwarz), C-Rock (Stir15), Tom Di Matteo (Missive), DJ T. (Get Physical), Phonique (Dessous / Pokerflat), DJ Freestyle (Brique Rouge), Hipp-E (Nightshift) or Jimpster, Shur-I-Kan and Milton Jackson (Freerange).
In spite of the big names, party lives with a very limited promotion to remain underground, but in 4 years running it became another real legend created by Martin and Maros. The last Friday of the month is a date, when you know for sure, where clubbers feets are going to in Bratislava. In addition to that Maros and Martin became the big supporters of local talents DJs as well as producers. They established Benchmark Recordings label with their friend DJ Crumb, where they give much space to the local producers next to thier own production. To that they were able to get big names to release on the label, as Alex Dean aka Souldoubt (Freaked/Bluem/UK), Liam Swarbrick aka LHK (Tango/Detour/UK) or american duo Smitty & Davenport (Doubledown/US). The label with just 2 releases out and next 3 on the line very soon already got much attention from the British press and worldwide DJ stars, when the first release Sundae Picnic EP got great reviews in Mixmag, iDJ and Muzik magazines and long life in the boxes and place in the charts of DJs like Sasse, Chris Duckenfield (Swag), Murray Richardson, Bill Brewster or Alex Moran. The second release Bubak by Pragues DJ Braun got the recognition from even wider range of DJs, when people like Mazi (audiosoulproject/NRK) , Phil Weeks (robsoul), David Duriez (brique rouge), Asad Rizvi, or Jon Marsh (beloved) were delighted by the EP.
Maros also plays lounge & chillout music. There he explores his more musical soul and plays more lounge, deephouse, nu-jazz and broken beat stuff, which fits perfectly to Radost atmosphere. He also plays occasionally at bigger venues in louge room under his Mel Blanc guise.
