Last Romantic Man

I’m not looking for a maid, a cook or a mother for my children. I am not looking for someone to control or be controlled by. I am not looking for someone I can live with. I am looking for someone I can’t live without. That special someone who occupies my every waking thought and appears in my every dream. That special someone who embraces my heart with her smile and steals my breath away with just a kiss. I’m not looking for Barbie or perfection, just close enough to perfect for me (She is beautiful on the inside too). I am a Hopeful Romantic with a unique yet positive outlook on life and love. To know me best is to know the values and ideas I hold dear. Ultimately I am in search of my soul mate. The term soul mate does imply a certain level of emotional and spiritual completion. As a poet and romantic, I know in my heart how it must be but I have yet to experience it. I would love to know how this feels. I feel like if I find someone who loves with all of her heart as I do, I will experience it from that moment on. It seems I am one of the few who understand that words like Love or Sorry require action. In and of themselves, they are just words. They are nice words to hear but without action are meaningless.To believe in things like soul mates means you have hope and without hope, what do we really have? With all the people on the Internet hiding in their anonymity and never showing you who they really are or who you would like them to be, it is easy to become overwhelmed with feelings of hopelessness and give up. I feel like; As long as we still draw breath, there is hope.I love deep, meaningful conversation that provokes thought and positive change. I consider myself old school where people care about people and treat them with respect and compassion. Things like honesty, integrity and fidelity mean a lot to me but I also understand that these words don’t mean a thing to most people nowadays. I also believe that if I hold true to who I am, maybe some of these qualities may rub off on others and survive to be passed on to yet another generation. I am an optimist and my glass is half full.
