Ah yes, it's in the numbers--
Yes it's true I love three's. Being Pagan, I don't think that anyone would find that surprising! That's why I choose the email address Kalima999. I chose it by intuition and not knowing as much as I should about numerology. Since that day I have had interesting and enlightening conversations wiht my son in law and my daughter about the nature of 999. Ofcourse after finding it to be what it is I actually wanted to change the address. But we all know that the only way that can be done is to start over and Lyra and I have put a lot of work into this space.
So I want to be clear. This is a devotional site.Yes Kali Ma is dark. I myself am going through a period where I am exploring, questioning my own nature-including my shadow side, but I also think that balance is important. So I have learned another lesson, one of the myriad to come.
I hope and pray that each of you also find what you need.
In the mid 90's I did a painting in college. It was abstract with lots of reds, black and splotches of blue. When I was finished I was at something of a loss at what to call it. I went to Barbara Walker's book of Women's Myths and Secrets and looked through to see what caught my eye. I came across Kali Ma...read and I knew I had it...The Order of Kali Ma.That was the beginning of an interesting journey in my study of Goddesses and Goddess worship. I have needed Goddesses like Kali-strong role models for women...to show us we can be strong, connected and of importance to our communities. This last year I had a dream that I came across a shrine to Kali Ma in a flea market of all places! Yes the Goddess really is everywhere. There were two priestesses keeping the shrine and they came up to me in welcome. There were offerings scattered every where-gold and red flowers and so many gifts.
At the end of the dream I saw Kali Ma's third eye open ad look at me. I was terrified ofcourse, but I felt wonder and elation as well. I knew after dreaming this that I had to do something more to reverence Kali Ma. I put more pictures up on my alter, and dedicated one of my journals to her- but that still didn't quite get it. It was my sister that suggested a Puja page. And so here we are. My daughter Lyra Fox has been a great help with the graphics (she put in many hours of work, for which I am immnesely grateful!)and her Husband with the links...it would not be near so nice without them. If you have ideas, please feel free to message us.While this is my story about how I came to Kali Ma, this is not about me.
I am here to offer reverence to the Goddess.
Your prayers, offerings, requests go straight to HER. I believe that the internet is a powerful tool to reach the Gods.Blessings!Cynthia
