From this moment on, and pending the October release of their debut single "Superbirdie", the worlds misfortune knows no end... we all have to learn to live with ACHTUNG ZEBRA! ;-)
The group produces a no-frills sound, bound by an energetic funk-rock beat and the occasional pop rhythm when the song calls for it: clean, crisp drums paired with funky bass lines set the tone while wild guitars cover an array of sounds ranging from familiar slightly-torn chords with groovy funk-riffs, to unheard-of, massive bricks of guitar sound. The groups trademark lies in their playful and often sarcastic presentation, perceivable both in the lyrics and in the singing. The English lyrics are inspired 'by the adventures of an egomaniac grain of rice resolutely fighting for a brighter cause by joining Greenpeace', and by more significant social and cultural topics broached in this unmistakably critical yet respectful tirade. As singer Georg Viktor Emmanuel puts it: "Humour is still the best way to have any say at all in this world."
It is through the creative process of writing ironically humorous songs, producing unusual videos and hosting eccentric live performances in outlandish settings that the members of ACHTUNG ZEBRA enjoy displaying and developing their intricate personalities.
Anyone venturing into the groups madness will attest that, more than a band, ACHTUNG ZEBRA is a philosophy of life based on the idea that the first and oddest thought that comes to mind is the one it pays off to implement. This is easier done than said when one doesnt spend too much time thinking about potential consequences... Letting go and delving into the creative inspiration of the moment is what its all about. Says singer Georg Viktor Emmanuel: "what you dont think about in the first place cant disturb you in the end"._______________________________________________________ ___________ ____________________________________________________________ ______ BIO - DEUTSCH: Im Frühjahr 2006 gab es eine schicksalhafte Entscheidung! 4 Musiker, die sich schon aus früheren Formationen kannten, beschlossen sich zu ACHTUNG ZEBRA zusammenzuschließen. Von diesem Moment an und mit der Veröffentlichung der Debütsingle 'Superbirdie' im Oktober des gleichen Jahres nimmt das Unglück seinen Lauf. Die Welt muss von nun an mit ACHTUNG ZEBRA leben lernen!
Musikalisch besinnt man sich ohne viel Effekt- Schnickschnack auf das, was eine energiegeladene Funk-Rock Formation, die auch das Hinzufügen von Popelementen nicht scheut sofern es der Song verlangt, ausmacht: Knackige Drums, gepaart mit funkigen Basslines stellen das Grundgerüst, während die Gitarren vom leicht angezerrten Sound mit groovigen Funk-Riffs bis hin zu fetten, verzerrten Gitarrenwänden alle Stücke spielen. Ein Markenzeichen ist der verspielt und oftmals sehr sarkastisch dargebrachte Gesang! Die englischen Texte beziehen sich vom 'Reiskorn, das aufhört sich über sein Ego Gedanken zu machen um sich Greenpeace anzuschließen' bis hin zu sozial- und gesellschaftskritischen, 'großen Themen' die auf unverwechselbar, sarkastische aber doch respektvolle Art aufs Korn genommen werden. ACHTUNG ZEBRA haben Spaß daran ihre Persönlichkeiten durch das Schreiben von witzigen, ironisch- sarkastischen Songs, durch das Produzieren ausgefallener Videos und das Spielen außergewöhnlicher Konzerte, die immer wieder an ungewöhnlichen Orten (siehe 3 Städte Challenge) stattfinden, zu entfalten und weiterzuentwickeln.
Letztendlich ist ACHTUNG ZEBRA mehr als eine Band es ist eine Lebensphilosophie die besagt, dass der erste und schrägste Gedanke immer der ist, den es sich lohnt umzusetzen. "Es lebt sich am besten, wenn man nicht zu viele Gedanken an die Konsequenzen verschenkt, sondern einfach dem kreativen Lauf folgt - anders gesagt: Scheiß di nix, dann fehlt dir nix!"
