About Me

Straightaway I should say that although I am an American (or Yank as they call us down under) my Aussie nickname is Bazza. Given to me by some Australians who stayed at my house in NSB during the ASP sponsored Tropix Triple Crown pro-surfing series in the 80's. These included the competition director Al Hunt, the judge from Oz Terry Day, and the judge from South Africa Tim Williams. It was a great time that I'll never forget. So calling me Bazza or Baz is a bit of a remembrance, I reckon.OK - as to my business side..I am a landscape and irrigation contractor in New Smyrna Beach. I primarily design and install landscaping and irrigation systems for new or existing properties. I love my work and feel very fortunate to do so. Life is indeed good from this perspective.I live a couple blocks from the ocean and try to surf as often as possible. My home is located on a natural dune ridge so I have some fantastic views. New Smyrna Beach is an incredibly beautiful quiet little coastal community and has a reputation for having more consistent surf than most any other area in the state. I am continually working to improve my property's gardens and have some very cool tropical areas including a number of Polynesian Tikis placed throughout. I LOVE palms and have a bit of a collection including the Cuban Old Man, Red Sealing Wax, King (or Alexander), Bismarck, (six-trunk) Pygmy Date, Cabbage, Canary Island, Needle, Cat, Lady, Fishtail, Foxtail, Bottle, Majesty, Areca, Queen, and Saw Palmetto. Lately I've also been collecting various Crotons...I really love the fact that they are so durable. My collection of them include a large 'Stoplight' specimen which is over 6' in height! It's a beauty! For pets I have a gorgeous and very sweet female Umbrella Cockatoo named Matilda and 2 awesome female Australian Cattle Dogs named Winkipop and Billabong. I raised WP as a puppy and BB is a rescue from Louisiana. I also have 3 cats - all siblings - all black. One is a female the other two are males. They stay outside year-round and have shelter when they need it.What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us....Cheers for now, Bazza
