Brian Goss

Hello there reader, my name is Brian and I play music. discovering music at a young age, I realized music's awesome power to affect people. When I was nine I picked up the guitar with aspirations of becoming a megarockstar - didn't really work out (though I played a pretty mean air guitar). Anywho, I stuck it out - practicing like madman, cycling through a couple different bands, and listening to Jonny Lang's "Wander This World" album at least a bajillion times. Listening to others play is a great thrill; I always find myself trying to identify what makes a great muscian...great (usually I come up blank). While listening I try to absorb as much as I can about someone's sound: their style, their technique, even their stage presence, and perhaps it will make me better for it. Its just like me playing golf. On most days I am a less than medicore golfer, but what I have found is that whenever I watch the pros on TV before I hit the course, I do a hell of a lot better. Wierd, anyways back to music. It is safe to say that the CD player in my car is NEVER empty; tired from extreme overuse, that baby is full of everything from John Coltrane to Bob Dylan to Rage Against the Machine - anything that I can tap my foot to really. I dont play music or pretend to like music because of some deep, intellectual reason, but because it is fun and because there is always something to learn. Begining to branch out, I have been writing my own stuff for a couple years now and like many other lost souls, I'm trying to find my place in the music world. Besides playing solo, I play electric guitar and sing in a local band called Junkman's Chior. Together for over a year, we will be releasing our debute album later this year - very exciting. Until then, I'll be around, probably sitting in my basement with a pencil behind my ear, guitar in my lap, trying to find the right notes. Cheers!
