Oya

About Me

Oya began her music career behind the well-worn wooden pews of her childhood church. Her gift of melody was further inspired by such musical veterans as Patti Labelle, Whitney Houston, Prince, Bob Marley, Shirley Murdock and Aretha Franklin. Through these unique blends of vocal stylings Oya has cultivated her very own soulful sense of song. Her refined groove and reverberating power, set against the backdrop of a timeless blend of R&B, Gospel, Classical, Blues, Reggae and Jazz music, is sure to motivate her listeners to move and be uplifted. "My intention is to raise the vibration of all those that I encounter with the offering of voice. Music is a movement. It is the flow and breathe of life born of rhythmic and melodic essence and much like our spirit imbued with infinite possibilities."
