I think the most important thing I can say about myself is that I am the mother of three wonderful grown kids that I love very much. They are my biggest joy and concern and my greatest accomplishment. My kids have all told me that they had the best childhood, and that is the best gift they could give me. Because as a parent you always wonder if you did things right and you did a good job raising your kids. Since they've all left Iowa to pursue their careers, I do a lot of traveling from visits to Amber, my son-in-law Dana, and my new granddaughter Aiyana, in Phoenix, Zach and my daughter-in-law Mary across the bay in San Francisco, and Alisa and her boyfriend, Joey, in Chicago, to gorgeous beach vacations in between. I love to travel. I lived in Germany my senior year and graduated from Frankfurt American High School, where my sister and I rode from Hanau to Frankfurt every day in a green army bus. Some of my best memories of my youth are from my senior year in Germany. What a great experience! Oh, the stories I could tell. ;) My dad took us all over Europe, and as time went by some of those memories were fading, so I went back and saw it all again (and MORE) with my daughter! I would travel the whole world if I could, if only I had the time and the money. I've only been to 12% of the world's countries and there's so much more I want to see. Another passion of mine is working out and keeping myself in shape. Although, it takes a lot more work now a days to see the results that I would like. :) Oh well, that's life, we get older. We need to deal with it the best way we can and be happy for what we have and who we are, what we've been through, and where we are going. I'm still trying to figure that one out. Even at my age I don't have all the answers, but I'm a whole lot smarter than I was 20, even 10 years ago. Time does teach us things. People are always telling me I look young for my age, and as I get older I appreciate that comment more and more. I feel young, and I know it's because I make a conscious effort to take care of myself, nobody is going to do it for me. I consider myself a very neat and organized person who actually enjoys organizing things...I know it's weird. I have a soft spot for old people, I have a strong faith in God, I adore animals, I get carried away on the dance floor, I love to have fun, and I'm always taking pictures (ask my family). Give me romance and foot massages and I turn into an angel. LOL I also love being with friends and family, weekends, concerts (front row... REO ROCKS!!!), Broadway musicals (NYC Mamma Mia Rocks!!!), Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Thai food, red wine and dark chocolate. I love to have fun...did I say that already? One thing everyone who knows me can say is that I am an energetic soul.
