About Me

My name is Jon.

I play in a band called Fire Hydrant and another called World 9

I used to co-promote shows for a music series called The New Grunge . May it rest in peace.

I also have a full time job as a web developer, so I spend waaaay too much time in front of the computer.

If you are a band trying to add me to your friends list so you can spam me, I warn you - it ain't gonna happen. I like people though!

So I was in Philly last weekend. I didn't make it to any shows, though I did get to jam with my cousin Johnny (who helped me write Losin' It on a drunken night back in Feb '04) No songwriting this tim...

something new, something different

So there have been rumblings about the mystery band that is closing out the Rock-a-Thon. Is it the Queens of the Stone Age? The White Stripes? 'fraid not, guys. It will be a still unnamed project feat...

Post Rock is for dudes

I spent last Saturday at Lee's Palace checking out pop-shoegazers Fjord Rowboat who were in their usual fine form. Despite the awfulness of the middle band: a noise-rock outfit that, in conjunction wi...

a little secret about fire hydrant

The one thing I love about writing songs for Fire Hydrant is that I can essentially write whatever I want. We intentionally do a lot of different types of songs to avoid being pigeonholed and to repel...
