What is GOSPERA? GOSPERA is the music of my ministry, dedicated to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. Singing is my true calling and GOSPERA is the music that I sing. It is my word to describe the blend, style, and sound of the African-American spirituals, hymns, gospel and sacred anthems for which I believe my instrument, my voice, was made to sing. GOSPERA encompasses many styles. It is classical, spiritual, acoustic, a capella, traditional and contemporary. It is my contribution to passing on and passing down the traditions of African-American sacred music. Along with the virtuosity of all the singers and musicians assembled to support me in this endeavor, it is my hope to adequately capture the essence of the African-American worship experience. That is, the collective effort by the congregation to praise, worship, and thoroughly magnify the name of the Lord, for it is indeed the goal of our gathering.
