I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

BEFORE I ADD YOU AS A FRIEND, YOU MUST FILL OUT THE APPLICATION IN MY BLOG. THAT MEANS YOU!I'm friendly, easy to get along with, and I always strive to be polite and respect other people. I call my mother every weekend, pay my bills on time, and floss daily. I've been accused of being too nice. I stick up for the underdog. But when I get comfortable around someone, I can be pretty sarcastic, and I often mercilessly tease the people I'm very fond of. I can be pretty silly on occasion, and I like stupid, cute, naive things that make people laugh. But! I'm not a pushover. In fact, I can be almost annoyingly skeptical at times (I've been known to ask for source citations. Isn't that awful?). I like watching (good) movies, discovering new music, finding interesting things to eat, and talking about fascinating and/or useful stuff, like what's going on in the world and why. Although science is my strong suit, I can hold my own when it comes to history, economics, and politics. My addictions: belly dancing, Final Fantasy, science, news.*************

*INTPs are pensive, analytical folks. They may venture so deeply into thought as to seem detached, and often actually are oblivious to the world around them.Precise about their descriptions, INTPs will often correct others (or be sorely tempted to) if the shade of meaning is a bit off. While annoying to the less concise, this fine discrimination ability gives INTPs so inclined a natural advantage as, for example, grammarians and linguists.INTPs are relatively easy-going and amenable to most anything until their principles are violated, about which they may become outspoken and inflexible. They prefer to return, however, to a reserved albeit benign ambiance, not wishing to make spectacles of themselves.A major concern for INTPs is the haunting sense of impending failure. They spend considerable time second-guessing themselves. The open-endedness (from Perceiving) conjoined with the need for competence (NT) is expressed in a sense that one's conclusion may well be met by an equally plausible alternative solution, and that, after all, one may very well have overlooked some critical bit of data. An INTP arguing a point may very well be trying to convince himself as much as his opposition. In this way INTPs are markedly different from INTJs, who are much more confident in their competence and willing to act on their convictions.Mathematics is a system where many INTPs love to play, similarly languages, computer systems--potentially any complex system. INTPs thrive on systems. Understanding, exploring, mastering, and manipulating systems can overtake the INTP's conscious thought. This fascination for logical wholes and their inner workings is often expressed in a detachment from the environment, a concentration where time is forgotten and extraneous stimuli are held at bay. Accomplishing a task or goal with this knowledge is secondary.INTPs and Logic -- One of the tipoffs that a person is an INTP is her obsession with logical correctness. Errors are not often due to poor logic -- apparent faux pas in reasoning are usually a result of overlooking details or of incorrect context.*************

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Who am I lookin' for? Other science geeks, atheists, and smarty-pants'. And people with excellent spelling and grammar. What am I lookin' for in a man? A fellow atheist (or strong agnostic). A down-to-earth, geeky-yet-socially-well-adjusted brainiac. A man who sticks up for himself and others without being mean about it. And did I say I love funny people? I loooove funny people. And if you're also tall, stocky, dark haired, and green eyed man with a graduate degree in science, that never hurt either.

The Big Bang and the "first cause"

Regarding the Big Bang and first causes, we don't need to assume supernatural causes simply because science hasn't yet provided an answer. Science has an excellent track record of both explaining the ...
