Shantay Noir
was born September 14th, 1983 as daughter of a Mauritian mother and a German father. Shantay grew up in a musical family, offering her very early chances to present her talent. During her years at school, Shantay won numerous karaoke awards. After finishing school, she moves on to the established and well-known SAE-College to start an apprenticeship as sound engineer. As much as she enjoys studio-life, Shantay realises how much she wants to perform live on stage. Full of energy and excitement to achieve what she always targeted, Shantay starts her singing career as background vocalist for Sandy as well as Jess (both known from No Angels multi platinum fame) and many other national acts. For almost one year, Shantay tours the UK as lead vocalist for the UK Top 10 Act Love Inc. Returning to her home country; Shantay now is a mature and experienced vocalist with new ideas and a determined vision of what she wants to do. She spends every available minute to write songs and works with various successful producers (Peter Ries, Candy deRouge,Alex Besparis, etc.). During that creative and uplifting process, Shantay experiences the worst - her father dying unexpected. Shantay spends six months in Mauritius and lives in an Indian Bhakti Yoga Temple. With deepest thoughts about herself and her life, she gains new spirit, hope and energy to refocus and move forward towards her goals. Back in Germany, she works in a Munich studio where Shantay meets Blacky who shares her biggest passion music. Blacky and Shantay are a perfect team since, working on new songs and producing Shantays debut album.
