Army of Love

you guys ready?

About Me

The Army of Love is more than a band, it is a movement, a gang, a gathering of light warriors. It creates through the heart with warrior instincts, and love for all, especially animals, children, and old people. The Band started immediately after Paul and Amanda ran away from Hollis and Drew at the Hudson River Arts Festival in August 2000. Somehow after that Amanda got pregnant and learned to play guitar simultaniously! (with a little help from Paul). A friend that was hanging around and helping (Emily) started singing with Hollis and Amanda with some songs that Amanda wrote. Paul helped instruct and guide what seemed to be quite a creative fountain. Drew showed up once in a while because he liked to go to Paul's and kinda had a crush on Hollis ever since that day in August- he also liked the music. So they all played together for a while- songs like "Fuel in My Tank" and "Possum""Cheese Grits and Oatmeal"...etc. So everyone minus Drew (he was apparently too busy) recorded the first 2 Albums under the guise of The Army of Love...A concept Paul likes to take credit for. The next addition was Alanna as a Drummer...so it was Amanda on Guitar and Vocals With Emily and Hollis Singing Back-up Vocals, Paul on Lead Guitar and Back- up Vocals, & Drew on Bass. They Played for a while together, and recoded and Album called The Army of Loves Saves The World Again. They Played in and around Woodstock. At a certain point Amanda wanted to go Pro Football playing and the band went on a Hiatus. Later in 2003 they got back together with a new Drummer, Max and Back-up Singer Avalon- (Emily stopped singing with the crew a while back). At that point there were some shows in New York City. Hollis stopped being in the band, there was some stuff going on I guess. So they kept playing anyway till 2005 CBGB's Show. After that Amanda got married and started playing solo, with different band members. Just recently they played at the Colony Cafe in Woodstock after not playing for over a year....so there......the Army of Love band still lives, if not in a physical sense, in the heart and mind. The AOL will record a new album soon with all it's former members hopefully. The Army of Love is looking for you. The time is here. The Time is Now
