About Me

Yikes! About me… well, I guess I’ll just start at birth. I was born to some amazing parents who were always devoted to each other, to their kids, and especially to the Lord. I was raised in a Christian home & never really rebelled outwardly but I wasn’t saved until I was 14 at a church summer camp. (That seems like a cliché testimony, but it is oh so very precious to me!!!) Anyways, now here I am a good seven later, still learning and still growing in this faith God has gifted me with!!
Create Your Own This layout was handmade with love by the folks at My space or yours? Go get one!

My Interests

God, family, friends, movies, books, dance parties with my friends, dance parties by myself, the Bible, naps, swimming all summer, camping, Biblical counseling, baking, getting dressed up, getting dressed down, slippers, walks, Chipotle, Disneyland, laughing, my Life Group, my church, my Savior!!!

Music:

Jack Johnson, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé, Jamie Cullum, Harry Connick Jr, Norah Jones, Billy Joel, Black Eyed Peas, The Format, Anything you can have a dance party in your room to, old school Britney (heck yes), Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, Brad Paisley, old school Garth Brooks, George Strait, Dixie Chicks, Gary Allan country music in general, Sovereign Grace Music, Caedmon's Call, Derek Webb, SC-squared, Nichole Nordeman, David Crowder, Matt Redman, Michael W. Smith during the era of sweater-vests, Gavin Degraw (horribly akward lyrics, but catchy nonetheless), Weezer, CCR, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Queen, Sam Cooke, Sarah Bareilles, Colbie Caillat, Snow Patrol, Disney music, Broadway/Musicals, 80s power ballads, 90s love songs, and basically anything else you can think of that isn't screamo, emo, or techno.

Movies:

The Princess Bride, Sense & Sensibility, Pride & Prejudice, Anne of Green Gables, Anne of Avonlea, You've Got Mail, Two Weeks Notice, (I like chick flicks, obviously) Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Newsies, My Fair Lady, X-Men movies, Tommy Boy, Cinderella Man, The Last of the Mohicans, The Philidelphia Story, Pillow Talk, Lover Come Back, The Sandlot, Oceans 11, Oceans 12, Monty Python & the Holy Grail, She's the Man, 10 Things I Hate About You... well, I could continue but that would be pointless.

Television:

I love The Office, Scrubs, Heroes and reruns of Friends & the Simpsons.

Books:

B-I-B-L-E! Stepping Heavenward, Redeeming Love, Harry Potters, Anything Jane Austen, Jane Eyre, Chronicles of Narnia, Women's Murder Club Series, most paperback suspense/murder mystery types, Feminine Appeal, Elisabeth Elliot books, anything my mom sets on my bed to read after she's done with it.

Heroes:

John Wayne should be everyone's hero. But for reals...my parents are first & foremost on this list. I've seen them walk through deserts and storms and yet they're faith always comes forth as gold! My dad is so incredibly wise and I marvel at how soft his heart continually is anytime he talks about the Lord. And my dear mom has always been the shoulder I cry on. She is the primary bread-winner for the family since my dad is disabled and yet she takes on this task with joy, strength and an unwavering awareness that God provides. I could list off other heroes on this page, many of whom I've never even met. But for now, let me just say that my parents have had the greatest influence on my life & my walk with the Lord and I'm forever grateful to God for giving them to me!!

One more reason why I love my mom

So Mom says to me yesterday "Sometimes I get to bouncing when I hear music and then I think, 'man, if there was a mosh pit, I'd be in it!'" I love my 50 year old Mom.
