About Me

Donal is from the west of Ireland and still lives there beneath the Curlieu mountains in Co. Roscommon. He grew up in a climate mainly of traditional Irish music which he loves and jams along with regularly. His other love is to write. He writes simple songs about everyday events, serious and comical, in his life and in the world. His first album ITS ABOUT TIME was described as "A Pure Joy" by none other than the great Christy Moore. His second album LIVE AT THE MOVING STAIRS has been acclaimed by Charlie McGettigan, Tommy Sands and Colm Sands. The Irish Times claims that he catches on the fly the foibles of Irish society. Donal is an accomplished performer and engages with the audience in an intimate but above all, gentle way. "When you've been to one of his shows you feel as if you've made a new friend" - Black Nun Folk Club, Northern Ireland.
