Hey Everyone!I'm new here... trying to figure out this crazy religion called myspace!!!I must admit, I am one weird cookie! I balance simplicity and extravangance like nobody else! My self-aggrandizing humility is endearing, really! ..I am a very humble man, but please take note of how humble I am!..
Peat is a one strange customer yes indeed... I live together with my hunky-blåbär of a boyfriend, Jamin and our 4 cats, on Nicollet Island in Minneapolis. We have a beautiful, warm, often disorderly home with a garden in an old frame house from 1881 and couldnt be happier. Some of the neighbors could use a valium now and then, but most everyone in our hood is pretty awesome.
I like to knit and spin wool(Crocheters are the DEVIL!!!). Reading rocks, as do little crafty fun creative projects. I love to cook and stuff my friends with home cooked meals! I have recently discovered the culinary magic that are duck eggs! They are the golden fleece to bakers, with their strong whites and moist texture.
I like to grow things. I mean REALLY like to grow things. I garden with a nuclear capacity! We cant look out most of our windows directly due to the sheer MASS of orchids and other plants in the way. Outside I have a flower garden and a garden with fresh veggies.....You know how I love to chop!!!!..
I live downtown and have quite possibly the most famous flock of chickens in existence. Jamin and I, plus 5 other neighbors take care of 27 chickens, 10 ducks, and three geese. I am a professor of ..Chickenology.. meaning that I teach a class to city slickers on how to take care of chickens! I would probably have sheep, a donkey and reindeer if it was allowed! Gotta save something for my 30s!
As if I wasnt weird enough... I like languages. I speak fluent Dutch, Swedish and English. I have also learned German and Icelandic, but I am not so good at them... Not that I have any good reason to learn them due to the cultural bell jar that is the US, but I think it is good for my brain (and soul!) I tend to go a little nuts if I dont get out of the US every once in a while. I also really like the progressive and leftist values of Dutch, Swedish, and Icelandic society and I do my best to introduce them to our backwards little country!
But I am not all cracked corn, spinning wheels, and verb conjugation! I love all sorts of Music from all genres and all countries... See Music..
Jamin and I also have a stocked bar and enjoy testing new cocktail creations on our friends. If you have never tried an Elderflower Martini or Jamin's famous ginseng flavoured "Dirt" Cocktail, you are surely missing out. We also homebrew beer(flavoured with homegrown hops, of course!!!), wine, and mead.
