Influenced musically at a young age, John Cuellar Jr. (J-DOTS real name) always showed the ability to express himself lyrically. At the age of eleven, J-DOT wrote and performed his first song along with his sister and cousin as his backup singers. J-DOTs appreciation of all types of music categorizes him as a true Student of the Game. From Rock to R&B and from Jazz to Hip Hop, J- DOT exhibited an unconditional desire to explore all musical genres. J-DOT ultimately gravitated towards Hip Hop, listening to such artists as, Biggie, Nas, Big Pun, Fat Joe, and Wu-Tang.J-DOTs notoriety grew during his high school days. His ability to freestyle and vividly portray his emotions and experiences through his lyrics earned him great respect from the local underground community. At the age of nineteen, J-DOT and several friends recorded their first album entitled 954 Boyz, which included tracks such as Street Life, Pitfight, and Bang-Bang.Now at the age of twenty-three, this Puerto-Rican perpetuator of lyrical mastery is more focused than ever. He is working on his full length album (which should be available in 2009) with an up and coming record label out of South Florida, Hands Down Entertainment. This album, not yet titled is sure to please true "Hip-Hop heads" with hits like "Minority Report" & "Something's".
J-DOT is also working on several mix tape C.D's that will be hosted by some of the games top D.Js, as well as collaborating with other artists on the Hands Down roster. J-DOT is definitely a breath of fresh air at a time when the rap game is saturated with so much garbage; J-DOT is indeed a diamond in the rough waiting to be found.
