About Me

A British expatriate living in the Mid-west, still trying to figure out how the US functions at all. Geek by nature, but with a healthy interest in real life. My days are spent managing a voice and data network in Cleveland, playing with technology and growing ever more curious about business and how everything I enjoy can be balanced. My home consists of my wife Jessica and my wonderful little girl, Gillian, who seems to have turned out to be a minature female version of myself. Same face, same hair, and the same personality. Poor little thing.I can often be found herding my five cats around the house, attempting to train them to use the little box, or even rewarding my neighbours for finding the ones which go astray...
My score on The Nerd? Geek? or Dork? Test :
Pure Nerd
(65 % Nerd, 8% Geek, 30% Dork)
For The Record:A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia. A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one. A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.You scored better than half in Nerd, earning you the title of: Pure Nerd. The times, they are a-changing. It used to be that being exceptionally smart led to being unpopular, which would ultimately lead to picking up all of the traits and tendences associated with the "dork." No-longer. Being smart isn't as socially crippling as it once was, and even more so as you get older: eventually being a Pure Nerd will likely be replaced with the following label: Purely Successful.Congratulations!

My Interests

I love DIY projects - I've probably ripped apart every first floor room in my house so far, plus I'm working on my basement. Other than that, I can usually be found on my computer or playing with my little girl.

I'd like to meet:

I once had the opportunity to meet the gentleman from Xerox PARC who invented the mouse, but it never worked out... Maybe he can give me a few bucks for when I need carpel tunnel surgery.
My World Visitor Map!

Music:

Anything with a good rhythm, but I can't keep a beat to save my life. My iPod has a lot of U2, Aerosmith, Duran Duran, Meat Loaf and an extensive collection of classical music to calm me during rush hour. Usually I just listen to whatever Sirius radio spews in my direction

Movies:

Jeepers Creepers, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (The new one), Saw Triology, pretty much any horror, thriller, comedy or whatever is next on my Blockbuster queue. Recently I've watched the Machinist (Good), Sublime (Not so good), The Prestige (Probably my favourite movie this year) and Idiocracy (Good). Basically I like any movie without Will Ferrell in it.

Television:

House, Silent Witness, Family Guy - I try my best to avoid reality shows and reruns of nonsense. That said, Dirty Jobs is starting to grow on me.

Books:

I've been reading books by Stephen Covey recently - They actually work well for me. I really should read more, but I always convince myself I never have the time.

Heroes:

My wife grew a baby - I thought that was pretty neat.
