The one person that could leave me speechless.
Or, someone who is no longer a physical entity on this rock. Only existing in historical rememberances ( written, audio or visual recordings). And, although he was a big time believer ( I most certainly am not ), I feel this performer should be respected with regard to his beliefs, as they were. If their was such a person as the great JC, John C. Cash never left any doubt, he was it. At least, as far as I care. Man, did I ever under appreciate that talent. Hank Williams Senior as well. I credit many of my written songs, that is the lyrical part of the song, to Hank Sr. And of course his playing style as well, that can never be downplayed. I think of Hank Sr. as THE RAMONES of the early country,and,rock-a-billy era. He did a lot with a few chords. And the genius in the song lyrics..? He was incredible at using down home colloquialisms with eloquence. I just love the way he used his wit and inflection, to produce songs that paint a vivid picture, and could evoke emotion from a mere few words. I don't even know if I am making any sense. The man was great, and his music still is...So many people thought/think of him as a simpleton Hillbilly ( and that is not to say I believe Hillbillies are any less a person than I, or, that Hillbillies are simpletons, at all... ). Bluegrass music pioneers, like, Flatt and Scruggs, Ralph Stanley;etal? The best. My Old Man knew more about music then I ever had the chance to share with him. He is alive, and fairly knowledgable about a myriad of things.. it's just unforunate that he is often hard to speak with because of his hearing loss.I love to share music. It is one of my great happinesses thoughouy my whole life. Having my children sing harmony with me, as I strum my dinky achoustic guitar, is so cool. I couldn't relate it through writing. And they are naturally talented, just a bit performance shy. At least, I hope that, that's the reason they act the way do when I ask them to harmonize with me. :/I want to share my love of music with my children, even if it's the only thing I can ever give them that is worth, anything, they could earn out there in the harsh world. Interesting, I am listening to Johnny Cash's version of "Ghostriders in the sky", right now. :)Anyway, Johnny was probably a cool dude to hang out with..even when he was trashed. I'll never know. But,I do love his music. He's been dead a few years now...but, he's speaking into my ear right now. ;) Ah.." I'm the man in black."See y'all later".....
Just remember, it's the "WHEELS" that run you over.
