When people walk away from a Jim Rice concert they remember two things, his
golden baritone voice and the music. - Oh, and of course, his smile.
Jim started out playing in his father's country band when he was 16 years old
and within a short time Jim found himself in Nashville, TN where he acquired
a songwriting contract with BMG Publishing. Jim was a BMG staff writer for three
years and sang on countless studio sessions. Jim was working with leading record
producers, such as Chuck Howard, Barry Beckett, Byron Gallimore, and Marty Roe
(lead singer for Diamond Rio).
It wasn't long until Jim secured a full recording contract with Atlantic Records
and is now, well on his way to securing a new recording contract with another
major label. Jim's latest CD is filled with songs written by some of the best
Nashville songwriters and recorded in his unique, smooth style that melts the
ladies' hearts.
The Jim Rice Band has played several famous dance halls and has opened for artists
such as Gene Watson, Lonestar, John Barry, John Connelly and others. Jim's influences
have been George Strait, Randy Travis, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Keith
Whitley, and George Jones to name a few.
