About Me

Ok... Grabbing on to the technological coat-tails of the society, I am signing on to this my-space place. As a pastor (Jericho Christian Fellowship) and Director of the Jairus Agency (www.jairus.org) I hear constant references, both professional and from the kids about myspace. So, in a feeble attempt to stay connected and somewhat relevant, I am opening up my own page. I am a firm believer in the truth that Jesus of Nazareth showed us how to live, and then layed his own life down to let us pick it up from there. The incredible fact that he didn't stay dead gives us the hope and power to live the kind of life he calls us to. I also believe the American church does a poor job of representing who Jesus was, and is... and if he were walking the planet today - he would probably be turning over tables in the marketplaces of the Christian-ese world. Life is good, but it took awhile. I am happily wed... that's Amanda in the photo... and my 5 kids are cool - ages 7-20. I like 'em. myspace graphics & layouts

War... If you're winning... does that make it good?

Back when this whole mess started in Iraq, it appeared that to be "Christian" in America, you were politically piled upon the conservative bandwagon-back of the "Shock and Awe" bombing expedition...

What worth?

At a recent Jairus Teen 12-Step meeting in our offices, I asked how many of the gathered youth felt hopeless. All of them raised their hands about twenty teenagers altogether saying that they had not...

Random thoughts on word power

I was reading in my Bible this morning, and it struck me that so much of what was written there was meant to ENCOURAGE the reader. I happened to be going through one of the Apostle Paul's letters to t...
