Gaël Rakotondrabe

Gaël Rakotondrabe comes from Reunion Island, he's luckily in contact with music very early due to his family environment, like the singer and accordeonist René Lacaille. He's attracted by the piano and fly to Paris where he studied jazz with Philippe Lebaraillec, and also harmony with Bernard Maury and Isabelle Duha. He played with different bands and many musicians like James Cammack, Mahay Dera, Nirina Sulette, Laurent Rakotondrabe, René Lacaille, Eric Triton, Dominique Lemerle, Laurent Sériès, Solène Pannetier, Déborah Benasouli, HeezBus, Sylvain Clavier, Benmo, Tez, Spleen, Hugh Coltman, Devandra Banhrart, Bianca and Sierra Casady from CocoRosie, the Royal Dutch Orchestra, Suzanna Mälki, Cibelle, .... He won this year the first prize of the Montreux Solo Piano Competition, toured with CocoRosie, released with Spleen the song "Tu l'aimeras" on his album "Comme un enfant".
