for we are wonderfully and lovingly created

About Me

I am a very blessed woman. Married to the love of my life, I live in Prattville, Alabama. Johnny and I love the charm of our historic town! Our three beautiful daughters have brought three good men into our lives, along with 4 adorable grandchildren and a granddog. We love traveling to the Gatlinburg area; being with our girls; and eating out. I teach 2nd grade & love it. It would be great to hear from those of you that I taught in 2nd grade at Holtville Elementary and see which dreams you are making come true. Or maybe I didn't teach you, but I got to know and love you through our other 2nd grade classes. I only have 5, maybe 6, years left as a teacher and then I'll retire and spend my time with Johnny and our grandchildren. It's a really neat, but strange, feeling when I have the children of children I taught! Denny Nix was in my very first class and a couple of years ago I had the privilege to have his daughter, Taylor. Wow, talk about feeling a bit older! Because of my recent illness and 77-day sleep, I'm not able to teach this year. However, God has richly blessed us and we gather joy from each day. To those of you that prayed, thank you so much. I'm one of those that saw the other side, but came back. My family and I harbor no doubts that prayers brought me back and is helping greatly in the healing process. Some days are better than others and I had to learn to walk, write, and climb stairs all over again. It's been a long journey and still isn't over, but I AM recovering! Johnny and I worship with the congregation at Prattville church of Christ and would love to see any of you there! It's a loving place filled with Christians interested in others. We have lots of young people and classes for all ages. Come worship with us! Here's hoping your dreams are big, your laughter is hearty, and your life rich with love. Thanks for dropping by and have a blessed day~

My Interests

I enjoy traveling with Johnny. We visit the Gatlinburg area at least twice a year and can never get enough of it! I also enjoy reading books by Tom Clancy, James Patterson, and Patricia Cromwell. Since I'm home this school year, I've had lots of time to go back and read the books in our library. It's been relaxing and so much fun. One of my favorite things to do is play with Ian and listen to him laugh. He is such a happy child and totally fascinates me with his antics and conversation. I don't get to see our Mississippi grandbabies as much as I'd like, but when we are over there Austin entertains me with his love for trucks! The bigger they are, the better he likes them! Going out to eat is another of my favorite things to do, alongwith shopping with my daughters. Leslie has this unique ability to find the neatest places to eat and Jenny is always up for a shopping trip! Again, it's such a great life and I love each and every moment~regardless what I'm doing!

I'd like to meet:

I can't wait to talk with Mary, the mother of Jesus find out about his first 10 years! I'd like to meet and talk with my great-grandmother on my mother's side~It would also be just really neat to have lunch with Vin Diesel, Harrison Ford, John Travolta, Julia Roberts, and Sandra Bullock. Listening to their conversation over good food would be an awesome meal!! Can you imagine?!

Music:

Anything romantic; anything by Rod Stewart; songs from the early 70's~I LOVE hitting I-65 headed north doing at least 80 with the CD player going and playing loud! Once, I didn't stop until I got a few minutes north of Chattnooga, TN and then turned around and headed home. What a way to clear any and all cobwebs! Not to mention the awesome scenery, fresh air with the moonroof open, and the rush of the speed on an open highway.

Movies:

I LOVE action/adventure movies such as Cliffhanger; Air Force One; and enjoy time travel films such as Frequency, and Final Countdown. I'm not a fan of movie theatres, but love our Netflix account. Throw in a movie, cut out the lights, shut up the shutters, grab an icy Coke, turn the volume up, up, up and settle down to watch a great movie! If you don't have Netflix, check it out! Beats having to return movies to the store!!!

Television:

I'm a huge Law and Order fan! My brother Nelson and Leslie got me turned on to those reruns. I've also enjoyed watching the Reba reruns through Netflix. Lots of laughs from that show! My favorite channels are Lifetime, HGTV, Bravo, USA, and TNT. I'm a fan of The Driving Force with John Ford and his daughters and American Chopper. (Mikey is so funny! and John Ford is so demanding!)

Books:

All of the James Patterson novels and Patricia Cromwells when I want to relax, and the Bible when I need help or uplifting. I'm a sucker for books and magazines!

Heroes:

My husband, my brother Nelson, my daughters Stacey, Leslie, and Jenny are always there for me to lean on and learn from~Thanks, guys. You're the best~What a blessing~to be married to your best friend~
