About Me

DJ Shadow coined the term 'Cinematic Hip-Hop' and Diagram of a Scam has claimed this new land for it's own purposes. Whether it's their original material or their instrumental interpretations of modern hits like Squarepusher's 'Red Hot Car' or The White Stripes' 'Seven Nation Army', the Scam tries to widen the scope of your expectations. Catchy melodies and danceable grooves dominate most of their repretoire. Diagram of a Scam employs an arsenal of vintage keys to create ethereal landscapes while heavy bass and drums push you along for the ride. The music provided above was recorded in one afternoon in December 2004 @ Starlight Studios in North Carolina. While this music is now somewhat dated, it best represents the roots of the band. Over the last two years, Diagram has remained underground refining their sound and composing new material, surfacing only to play a handful of well received gigs. Diagram of a Scam is scheduled to go back into the studio in the summer of 2008 to record their first full length effort. Keep your eyes on this sight for new music posts and updated info.
