The Grim Fandangos

About Me

The Grim Fandangos are an indie fourpiece from Glasgow's south side. Formed in late 2006, the band notched the 13th Note, Barfly, and notably: The Carling Academy on their bedpost within the first three months. Kevin, Ally, Craig and Jamie demand very healthy support wherever they play and have recently recorded and released a new extended play entitled "Dead Man's Shoes E.P".The sound was created to get the audience dancing and bopping with the growing fanbase testament to their popular and fresh sound. Catchy melodies, eccentric lead guitar and tight bass licks ride the waves of flamboyant and emphatic beats. It's fast moving, it's catchy and you'll be singing along very soon. Influences: The Grim Fandangos - Dead Man's Shoes EPWHAT a blistering beginning to an EP. I defy anyone to listen to The Grims' tune Dead Man's Shoes and stay seated. They have the cheeky melodies of The Housemartins spliced with the dour-hearted lyrics of The Wedding Present. Magic. Next tune, Bad Case Of The Cammies, plucks at the vagrant heart of The View while Delonghi has a jazz-tastic rhythm and lo-fi guitar mix that again just makes you want to dance.Even when the band start slow and quiet like on Tell Me (Didn't I Do Wrong) and you expect a ballad, it kicks off like a drunken barn dance.Rick Fulton, The Daily Record
