The Tigers played the first football game in the Deep South in 1892, with the program's first bowl appearance coming the 1936 season in the sixth Bacardi Bowl played in Havana, Cuba. As of 2005, AU Football has had 62 winning seasons of 8+ games, 32 bowl appearances, ten 10+ win seasons, four undefeated and untied seasons, and ten conference championships.
