I Make Life Look Easy

About Me

If you haven't heard from me in a while it's because I have betrayed my lazy nature and piled obligations upon myself. This summer I'm working at a Relais & Chateau resort and interning at KRON4 news in San Francisco. Soon I'll be back to PUC for one more year. I'll be working in the public relations office, writing for the Newspaper and acting as my dorm's senator.

To those of you who I haven't seen in a while, I miss you all... except you. Thats right you, the person who is reading this.

"I met a girl who kept tattoos for homes that she had loved. If I were her I'd paint my body till all my skin was gone." - Something Corporate

My Interests

Music, Movies, Video Games, Basketball, Reading, Philosophy, Travel, Wine, History, Science... anything that keeps my brain occupied.

I'd like to meet:

I've already met the girl of my dreams.

I DON'T want to meet anyone who takes themselves too seriously. Life is funny; learn to laugh at yourself.

Music:

I never like anything the first time I hear it, and I can't listen to music I like and talk or listen to someone else at the same time. This really pisses people off when they are trying to talk to me and a song I like comes on. I base what I listen to on my taste, not how esoteric it is.

Movies:

Against my own desire I am becoming a film snob, and I don't even watch that many movies. I WISH I could enjoy all the action/special effects/remake/product tie-in crap that comes out these days but I just can't. I like movies that don't take themselves seriously, or actually have something important to say.

Television:

If I turn on the TV and there is nothing on Comedy Central, The History Channel, or The Discovery Channel and no basketball, I usually turn it right back off. I refuse to watch LOST, Alias, 24, CSI:Wherever or Sex in the City. Don't get me started on 24-Hour news networks. If you ever quote The Simpsons around me I will probably correct the quote and go on to quote at least three other lines from the same episode.

Books:

When I was younger I read through every Tom Clancy book ever published. Now I am the butt of my own jokes for it (but continue to read the new books he releases). More recently I have liked Harry Turtledove, Jules Vern, Arthur C. Clarke, The Age of Reason, 1984, A Clockwork Orange.

Heroes:

Thomas Paine, Steven Hawking, John Stewert, Steven Colbert.

My Blog

I got kicked by an old man today.

Well, not that old, he was like 45. I was just walking to work (thats what I call my unpaid internship), and as I crossed the street he was on an interception course with me. I kind of moved to a...

Then tonight, goodnight... I'm burning Star IV

I'm now officially in Nor*Cal, having arrived in Angwin a little over a week ago. My college is in the middle of the Napa Valley, and we are pretty much surrounded by wineries and vinya...

Don't forget your roots

I always wondered why it seems like everywhere I go everyone is so much more racist than I'm used to. Turns out it might have something to do with spending some of my formative years in...

Where is this all leading? We'll never know.

Ok, so I've been slacking on correspondence, I admit it. I have a bit of time now so I'm going to sit down and try to fill all you losers in on whats been up. I was pretty stoked to get out of Was...

I guess this is growing up...

blink-182 is breaking up, or at least going on an indefinite hiatus. I know its not cool to like them these days, but I grew up on them and it bums me out.

Its my destiny, she wants me, she beckons.

She left me for dead but death didn't want no sloppy seconds. I've got 8 days left in America, and one of those will be spent for the most part on a plane. Its strange how long 8 days seems when I'...

I'm staring at the asphalt wondering whats buried underneath where I am.

I leave for Washington in 13 days and then in two months to Australia. I really can't beleive I'm leaving everything behind. I mean, I'm not even keeping my stuff in California, I'm moving it all to W...

Break from the mold.

Here are some links that will make you think, laugh, cry, masturbate furiously, or otherwise break the monotany and tedium of the same old internet personality tests and surveys - http://www.thebestpa...

I think its starting.

There's a good chance I'm becoming cynical... and oh god, I just realized it's less than a month to my 23rd birthday..... I don't know why but I haven't even been trying with girls for the last mon...

I'm not saying I'm better than you... just smarter

At least according to standardized intelligence tests. Thats right, I got accepted to Mensa, meaning I'm in the top 2% of the worlds population in IQ. Nothing's changed, I'm still the same old Michael...
