DJ RF existed as Rollei Fingers in the midwest rave and club scene for a number of years before releasing his first mixtape, simply dubbed "the blue disco tape" by its fans. With a known circulation of 500 this tape gained a great amount of fan fare for its perfect mixes and up tempo disco house style. It isn't uncommon to run accross these tapes various places even today, seven years after its release. After a change of location he emerged as a champion of all genres as he didn't allow himself to be bound by the normal lines that are drawn for house dj's. This early experimentation led him to hold residencies in one of the roughest hip-hop clubs in Denver as well as standard house residencies through out the city. Constantly ungelating between a desire to perfect his house sets and wanting to continue experimenting with genre bending mixes, Rollei joined forces with long time friend DJ Riggz to form "Brothers". A manic 2x4 set that rocks almost every contemporary major genre of music, Brothers is a bonafied crowd pleaser that leaves no dancefloor empty.
Mixing such a wide variety of musics helped DJ RF perfect his house sets by putting into perspective the difficulty of his chosen field of focus. "After playing un-quantized genres of music like disco and classic rock and mixing that with genres that are as diverse as new skool breaks, pop, hip hop and house, coming back to play house seems so much easier."
The past three years has seen renewed focus and drive in the club and rave scene, with a strict emphisis on his original love, house music. DJ RF has been attacking clubs with a heavy, dirty house sound that has been reviving long dormant house heads as well as gaining new fanfair throughout the Southwest. with some of the cleanest house sets you'll ever see, it's no wonder he garners respect and love where ever he goes.
