About Me
MojoFilter was formed in late 2004 with former members of Black Cat Bone, singer Jennifer Henderson, guitarists Joshua Maxwell and Chris Beasley. After the departure of their drummer, the trio found drummer Josh Boyd after a visit to local music forum Capescene.com (check it out y'all) The newly formed group started practicing and laying down the foundation for a solid blues rock band. In the spring of 2005, the band played their first shows to very receptive audiences in Cape Girardeau, as well as in Nashville. In April of 2005, Beasley decided to part ways with the band, and embark on his own path. The remaining members continued to play shows in and around the Cape Girardeau area making new fans and friends along the way. In June of 2005 with the addition of guitarist Jason Copsy, the band headed to the studio to record their debut CD, Lies, Deceit, and Company. With the help of bass player Rob Chronister, the band layed down the 9 tracks for the disc in about 6 hours, all of the tracks were recorded live, to capture the power of the live shows, plus it was very, very hot in the studio, so time was of the essence. The band continued bringing their music to the masses in just about every venue in Cape, including the 2005 City of Roses Festival. Late in 2005, guitarist Jason Copsy left the band to concentrate on another project. Also, Joshua Maxwell moved back to Kentucky, but remained with the band.Throughout the life of the band, bass players....permanent ones were hard to come by, and after sharing the stage with some of the best bass players in town, 13, to be exact, MojoFilter got their low end spot permanently filled with Scott Ryan of Prom Night Heroes. Scott brought new energy to the band, making it finally sound complete. In 2006 MojoFilter and it's members experienced many exciting musical and personal changes. With lead singer Jennifer Henderson becoming a mother to a beautiful daughter, Cadence.....though a little early, she is doing well, and is one of the most beautiful things on the planet. In August of 2006, guitarist and founding member Joshua Maxwell decided that he wanted to go in a different direction musically, and informed the band that he would be leaving the band after the September shows to concentrate on his new project and so MojoFilter added guitarist Jason Blanchard to the lineup. His influence helped develop Mojo Filter even further. In late September of 2007 guitarist Jason Blanchard and bassiest Scott Ryan chose to persue other musical avenue's. Mojo Filter made a call to former guitarist Joshua Maxwell and asked if he would like to rejoin the group. He greatfully accepted the offer. And so the mojo continues.
