About Me

Add me on facebook as well! I'm there more often than I am here.
I am a rock musician that's looking to get my start in the professional music business doing what I love. I try to dedicate my free time to the pursuit of musical education - be it my own or that of others. I play occasionally with my synagogue ( Tikvat Israel , a Messianic Jewish synagogue) and with Southside Church of Enon . I have been teaching guitar lessons for several years on a one-to-one basis, as well as having taken lessons myself from Penn Farmer (local jazzer, 3 years of lessons), Jon Finn (of the Jon Finn Group, Berklee Summer Guitar Sessions 2004 and 2007 - 1 week, styles class), and Dave Martone (Berklee Summer Guitar Sessions 2006 - 1 week, styles class).
As far as teaching is concerned, I am also always looking for new students. If anyone is interested in lessons, please contact me for rates. I can typically commute to your home if you are local, or you can come to my apartment. If that doesn't work out though, other options can include video-conferencing (via MSN Messenger or AIM/iChat - a web cam and microphone are not required on your end, but you won't get everything out of a lesson if you don't) and internet lessons (via Power Tab or Guitar Pro files). My areas of expertise with teaching (on guitar) include most topics from beginning to advanced theory, technique, and style (primarily in Rock and Blues). If you're interested, shoot me a message or a comment, and we'll go from there.
I should also add that all funds earned from teaching guitar lessons, music performance, and anything else music-related is going to funding a future music education at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. I'm planning to go in Fall 2009. So help me out. And let me help you in return. Cool?
Anyway, I hope you enjoy my tunes, and keep in touch! All I ask, if you like the tunes I cover or anything original I put up (whenever that happens) that you leave comments or tell your friends about this site. Thanks!
Just a heads-up, I'm working on writing a short EP to be released at the end of this year or the beginning of 2009. Stay tuned to my blog ( http://www.dougclarkonline.com/recording_blog ) for the latest details!

Sounds Like: Think Steve Vai. Now take that thought, and let's add some heavy guitar riffs. Sprinkle in a bit more melody. To that, add 3 tablespoons of ???, waaay too much coffee, and a microKorg. Finally, shake it all up, and blend it on Frappe until it's smooth. But notice: the edges are still jagged.
Record Label: None, and not looking for one at the moment.
