I am a human. My favorite band is Yo La Tengo and my favorite film is True Stories, if that can tell you anything about somebody.I am a recently converted Catholic and proud of it. Whoa--pride is a sin, is it not? Guess I gotta work on another way to say that.Other stuff I like, in no particular order: live theatre, film, His Name Is Alive, My Bloody Valentine, Belle and Sebastian, Big Star, Johnathan Richman, Sonic Youth, Built to Spill, Pavement, Broken Social Scene, Stereolab, Aphex Twin, Kraftwerk, New Order, Orange Juice (the band and the drink), KTRU, WPRK, cheap/vintage synths and recording equipment, the Beatles, Unrest, The Smiths, late 50s/early 60s stereo instrumental music, 60s and 70s soul and funk instrumentals, Ghost World, yacht rock of all kinds, cheese (both literal and figurative), wine, gin and tonic, Amy's Ice Cream, Hank's Ice Cream, Antone's Original Po-Boys (the REAL ones from the family owned Import Co. stores), healthy food, unhealthy food, fancy food, unfancy food, Beer. Mmmmm....beer.I work for a big international corporation by day and am a knob-twiddler by night--music and audio production, sound design, composing, that kind of stuff. I have been obsessed with recording equipment, synthesizers and sound in general ever since I can remember, and have been providing some kind of music- or sound- related services for paying (or sometimes non-paying) clients for more than 15 years. Clients range from live theatres to musicians to business advertisers.I like photography, though I am not very good at it. Lately I have become obsessed with taking photos of signs. I try to take a somewhat journalistic/documentarian approach to this subject, focusing not just on interesting/funny signs but also on mundane/boring/common signage as well. I have come to see this pursuit as being important as time has gone on, as already several of the signs I have photographed no longer exist. You can see a few of my photos here. I plan to someday publish a book of this material, which will either be an instant classic hit or a complete failure, no in between.I love my wife, my two little girls, and sometimes our two dogs, depending on what they destroyed today.
