About Me

Crowd XIII began just south of Youngstown Ohio in 1988 with Ehren and Jim of 13 crowds and me (Greg). I had played bass in Genetic Abuse with Jim @1987. We soon kicked Jim out, or he left, or whatever. He started listening to fucking Morissey and New Order and various other Euro-Fag music, so he wasn't much needed in the end (though he apparently needed it in the end). We kept his drums, and made our friend Alex learn to play them. During the next few years we played pretty much everyday. Sometimes people watched sometimes they didn't. Either way we recorded almost all of it. Mostly on my little brother Danny's boombox, hence the super cool lo-fi recording quality. When we weren't in the basement of my parents house practicing, we were in the van on the way to a party, drinking cheap beer and convenience store vodka, huffing gas, stealing acid from hippies, starting fights with rednecks, and just being good American punk rock teenagers. The band split up when Ehren left to serve in the Army, get married and have kids. I kept playing guitar and singing, and have been in several bands since then. Alex quit playing the stolen drumset we forced him to learn, and focused on other endeavors. Ehren eventually left the Army and moved back to the Pittsburgh area with his wife and two sons, where he helped start the band Nobody's Hero, which he sang for until his unfortunate passing. All three members had discussed the idea of doing a reunion show with Nobody's Hero and The Bedspins (one of my old bands), but due to schedules and the fact that we all lived so far away, it never happened. The last 10 years or so we all got together and played, but never all three of us at once. Ehren died at the VA hospital in Manhattan April 24th of 2006. The funeral service was the first time all three members had been in one room together for nearly fifteen years. Since then Alex has moved to Cleveland and we have put together "What's Left Of Crowd XIII". Nathan of Nobody's Hero filled in on bass at the first show back (a benefit for Ehren's sons). Tony and Adrian (also of Nobdy's Hero) also contributed additional guitar and drums. We have more shows planned, and I'm working on a cd of our old recordings and some new live shit. Any money What's left Of Crowd XIII is able to scrape up will go to Chad and Michael (Ehren's sons), in the form of savings bonds. ....................................... .................... ................. ................ ......... ..This profile was edited with Thomas' myspace editor™ V2.5
