The venezuelan drum n bass scene its relativily new, about 8 years ago (1998) when it was pretty underground at that time. This phenomenon was the first step to bring the new generation of djs and producers outside the techno scene that was te mainstream movement at that time in Venezuela.
So this was the first symptom to bring the newcomers interested in new sounds of electronic beats, as breaks, jungle and drum n bass. This alternative scene outside the techno scene was growing, and becomes in a real underground culture in Caracas, Venezuela. This bring the oppportunity that djs like JUJU, AK1200, Craze, Dara, Adam F, Rap, Patife, Marky, Rhythm Beater, Mathematics, and many more realize that Caracas was the real thing in Venezuela´s d&b movement.
This is when Edward Vera aka Turtled and Emmerson Hernandez aka Emmerson evolve from this scene. This 2 venezuelan drum & bass djs and producers start to produce seriously at the end of 2005, and quickly found the attention from big names as Dj Patife (Trauma, V Recordings), Marcus Intalex (Soul:R), Utah Jazz (Liquid V), Juju (Phuturo), Subject 13 (Vibez Recordings), Makoto (Good Looking Records), and others.
Subject 13 hooked up this guys at the mid of 2006 for their fresh caribbean sounds, and signed them on his label Vibez Recordings.
Vibez recordings is a legendary London based label, with great artists as Electrosoulsystem, Blue Mar Ten, Syncopix, XRS, Paradox, among others.
Subject 13 is also a legendary producer who is part of the scene from years, and has all the respect of the media and the junglist movement itself. From 15 years in the scene he released in serious labels as Fabio's Creative Source, LTJ Bukem's GLR, and Ray Keith's Dread.
Emmerson Hernandez aka Emmerson, is dj, producer and professional musician aswell, he is part of the famous latinamerican electronic project Babylon Motorhome, where he found his inspiration for new sounds and new perspectives in music, and internationally acclaimed for his participation on the famous Sonar Festival in Barcelona, Spain at the year 2002, performing with artists like Cinematic Orchestra, Mr Scruff, Bonobo, and others. He is also considered one of the pioneers of the dnb scene in venezuela with 8 years in the venezuelan movement.
As a dj he performed with djs like JUJU (Phuturo) Dj Craze (DMC World) Dj Dara (BreakbeatScience, USA), Dj Rap (Proper Talent UK), Mathematics (Social Studies, USA) AK1200 (Planet of The Drums, USA), Rhythm Beater (Cutterz Choice, UK), Mad Professor (Ariwa Records, UK), Sidestepper (Palm Pictures, UK), Dj Silver (Metalheadz, UK), Subject 13 (Vibez, UK).
Edward Vera aka Turtled is Media Comunicator, from the local Santa Maria University, his musical influences are from his childhood. He was part of an important d&b kru called Dikru where he played with important international dnb djs as Danny Wheeler (W10).
His music is been support by big names in the latinamerican and worlwide scene as Codekat (Honduras), Bad Boy Orange (Argentina), Cybass (Brasil), Dj Patife (Brasil). Marcus Intalex (UK). Utah Jazz (UK)
This year this guys are releasing several tracks on the legendary Subject 13´s Label Vibez Recordings alongside top producers as Greg Packer, Syncopix, Alaska aka Paradox, ElectroSoulsystem, Subject 13, Blu Mar Ten and been played by Subject 13 (Vibez, UK), Fabio (Creative Source), Intakz (Lithuania), among others.
