My Interests

I'd like to meet:

King David - he warred; he conquered, he wrote some damn fine poetry. His musical chops were sweet enough to quiet a raging enemy. He loved passionately, and even had a man killed over a women. Jewish texts described him as having hands so bloody that thier Jehovah wouldn't let him build his temple - yet he was the only man in their scriptures called 'a man after god's own heart.'Tom Waits - must i really explain myself...I'm leavin' my family
And leavin' my friends
My body's at home
But my heart's in the wind
Where the clouds are like headlines
On a new front page sky
My tears are salt water
And the moon's full and high
Rickie Lee Jones - if she'd but put those sultry lips together and sing me a tune, all bets would be off (just kidding sweetie!)Humphrey Bogart - the essence of 'cool' (and he got Lauren Bacall, to boot...)Glenn Tilbrook - if one's art can open a window on a life, i'd love to live next door to GlennPeter Mulvey - see above. literate, erudite, significant capacity for beauty and yet, not asleep at the wheel.Vaclav Havel - any man who toppled a government with poetry and wanted Frank Zappa to be in his cabinet...Edna St. Vincent Milay
What lips my lips have kissed, and where, and why
I have forgotten, and what arms have lain
Under my head till morning; but the rain
Is full of ghosts tonight, that tap and sigh
Upon the glass and listen for reply
yes, a sonnet but without gettin' all billy-shake on me...

The Poetry of Storms

Voices from The Other Side

I've been puzzling the last few weeks over why it is i sort of like Mike Huckabee - especially when one watched him transmogrify his once humane position on immigration into a raging tirade of intoler...
