About Me

I’m 27 years old, I play the sax (tenor and alto), and the clarinet too. I learned how to play the saxophone because a friend asked me if I wanted to join a band called Malacates Trébol Shop (www.myspace/malacates)... What do you say to that name??? Well, I said yes; and that's pretty much what I’ve doing the last 9 years of my life. So much fun, such great friends, amazing music, many experiences, some really cool places, and some new interests. Malacates has 3 CD's and we’re doing some really cool latin pop-rock music. Besides that, I used to play in a jazz quintet called Atempo Jazz Band, a project that started just as a joke with my best friend Jacobo, and then got very serious... hahaha, sometimes too serious. Right now I’m living in Hollywood, CA attending the Los Angeles Recording School. I’m trying to be a sound engineer/producer/musician happy person. This experience is amazing for me: a lot of knowledge, always short of time, very weird schedule, and the worst diet ever.... haha… So... this is me and I’m trying to manage MySpace like a kind of an Online Showcase for everybody, so let me know what you think about what you hear here ok??? One last thing....L.A.RULES!!

Influences: I like many different styles of music: jazz, blues, and latin are my favorite. Right now that I’m involved in this Sound Engineer experience, there are some albums/artists that are really inspiring me. One of my idols is Argentinean Composer/Producer Oscar Winner Gustavo Santaolalla. Also, right now, I’m just in this affair with the best album ever... The Dark side of the moon... Dude! It is too much! Basically, I try to not close my ears to any kind of music, because I think that we are a blend of influences and that is what music, art, and life are about.
Sounds Like: Building up a sound and an acoustic concept is a very important matter for a sound engineer. I think that following your intuition and getting away from clichés is a very good and safe beginning. That’s what I’m working on at the moment: trying to learn and hear everything, and then trying to forget everything and start to have fun. That’s the deal...
If it sounds right it is right!
