I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I Opened the Fat Buddha shop on bath st Nov 2006, we sell design/art/graphics books, toys from Kid Robot, Amos, Qee, Kubrick, Bearbrick & clothing from Rogue Status, FHI, 10 Deep, Recon, Subware, Addict, Answer, In4mants, The Hundreds.
Working for yourself is a hundred times harder than working for someone else, who motivates you, who kicks you up the arse when you are fannying around on myspace, who appraises your performance, who does your PDP, who develops you, exactly. Its not for the faint hearted, people who cannot motivate themselves or people who cannot handle stress, there is lots of that
'Happiness is a journey, not a destination', this is my mantra for living these days. I like to take a bit of happiness on a daily basis, small things like walking my dog, buying a dunny, tanning half a tub of ice cream, you know the drill.
I can be quite random, bit of a dick, have no attention span, have little or no short term memory, find it very difficult to concentrate on anything for a period of over 30 minutes, love collecting KISS stuff & trainers.
Have 3 great sisters, 2 cool parents and 1 beautiful daughter Lhanna, myscene (OMFG) friend down below. Dont feel comfortable in large groups. Also suffer from a bit of OCD, and trying to fulfill my ambition of writing a book.
Been thinking about religion after a freak visit to church, have been giving the concept of faith and a higher being a great deal of thought lately. Buddhism has captured me and quite fascinated by some of its concepts, the more you read the more relevant it becomes.
I Live in Glasgow and love this city, was born in bridgeton and brought up in drumchapel, left school at 15 and done a YTS, went back to education when i was 19 when I realised that working in a job you hated was not the way to spend your life. So i done something about it, went back to college and got my highers, done an HND at Cardonald College then finished it of at Glasgow Uni with Archaeology, and back into the workplace, this time higher up the food chain.
Glasgow has a great mix of characters and some great tales to be told if you take the time to talk to its inhabitants, old people at bus stops are the best, i love the way people will tell you their life story without much prodding, a great diverse mix of people.
My politics are simple, sympathetic to the socialist cause and beliefs, but believe we need to make the best of the system we have got, we need to raise the winter fuel allowance & reduce the number of MPS.
I believe in protecting endangered sectors, like manufacturing, it cannot compete on the open market but given time and the raising of the chinese currency it will become sustainable again, it just needs a helping hand.
I agree with creating affordable housing for the socially disadvantaged, think we have to much social deprivation for a civilised country, believe we propogate a system of social exclusion rather than inclusion, believe the right to buy for council housing was the worst thatcherism ever (but also admire the way she took the unions apart), believe the rich should pay more in taxes, all benefits should be means tested, and finally as the great songwriter said 'i believe the children are the future'..

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Frankie Miller, Classic rockers like Zep & The Who while they were at their creative peak, producing the classics and talk to them, then meet them 20 years later when they producing mediocrity and talk again and find out where it all went wrong.

Rod Stewart and ask what happened after 1981, at that point every record he released was pish, how can you go from the faces 'nod & a wink' and solo releases like 'smiler' & 'old raincoat wont let you down' to the great american songbook, i dont understand.

Stevie Wonder and enquire why was 'innervisions' so good only to be followed by 2 decades of dross.

Rick Reuben and beg him to do his magic on Rod Stewart, sit rod down for 2 months and make him write songs again that rock, strip out all the layers and over-dubbing and make a brilliant album as good as neil diamonds 12 songs or the johnny cash american recordings.

Tony Benn & discuss is there a way to make socialism work in the modern world.Tommy Sheridan and tell him i admire the work he done with the poll tax and his battle against warrant sales, the fight for socialism and the future for solidarity party, but advise him to keep his knob tucked away and chill with the sunbeds.
