The Insects In Amber is the creation of Melbourne musician John Justin. The first album "Insects in Amber - Volume one Tsubi edition" was made by using hundreds of insect sounds and morphing them with electronic instruments and jittery glam rock beats. This album is currently distributed through fashion label Tsubi (now known as Ksubi), is also soon to come out on Psy Harmonics, and is currently available on Itunes.
John has had a long assciation with Ksubi. As well as playing at the opening of The Skull Club for Ksubi, John has contributed music to their infamous parades. This albums first track "A Bug Opera" was composed for the launch of Ksubi's New York store. Volume one is a double album that also features an ambient CD.
As well as composing this album, John has music out on Psy Harmonics (under the name Ad Astra www.myspace.com/psyharmonics choose CONTACT from the playlist.)
John has also recently contributed guitar to Grace Jones forthcoming album -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_(Grace_Jones_album) and also an UNKLE production of a song song by Noel Gallagher "Weight of the World" featured on the "Goal" soundtrack.
John was also asked to play/abuse guitar for the legendary Damo Suzuki from Can for a recent Melbourne concert (see pics section). He is currently working on a new psych/glam project and has also started contributing guitar to Snog's new album.INSECTS IN AMBER ON iTUNES!
